Gloria was able to get tickets for the Martha Stewart Show on Tuesday, March 1st. Five garden club members were able to travel by car or train to Martha's Chelsea studio in New York City on an almost spring-like day.
Bonnie crafted a unique gardener's hat from an old straw hat, some fabric cabbage roses, and embroidery appliques she made with bright green fabric.
We were seated as a group. Many garden clubs from Rhode Island, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, CT, and Pennsylvania attended.
The garden clubs from Bedford, NY and East Hampton, Long Island, NY were seated in the center audience. Martha maintains homes in these places.
Bonnie is taking a photo of the image of us on the audience monitor. That's a stage light in the upper right corner. The row behind us was not yet filled.
We ate at a cafe after the show and admired the boxwood-- Martha's favorite plant because it is green all year. We agree!
We took home several goodies: a plastic trug, gardening books and a magazine, garden gloves, insect repellant, seeds and seed pots, a solar radio,
a poster, and compostable lawn bags.
Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the gardening tips we learned from Martha and her panel of experts on the garden-themed show that day.
