Successful Fall Plant and Garden Sale

The Fall Plant and Garden Sale was a success. We raised our goal of $100 for the scholarship fund.  Thanks to the many members who contributed art prints, stencilled clay pots, baked and canned goods, garden stepping stones, greeting cards, jewelry, wreaths, fabric items, bird houses and feeders, and dried hydrangea bunches.  We had many types of perennial plants available at very reasonable prices. We are a talented bunch of gardeners who have a variety of interests and arts to share!

Celebrating the Urban Landscape

Federated Garden Clubs of CT, Inc. President Donna Nowak leads the dedication.
The Federated Garden Clubs of CT, Inc. dedicated the Children's Roof-top Garden at the CT Science Center in Hartford Wednesday, September 15, with a dedication meeting and a luncheon.  East Hampton Belltown Garden Club members JoAnn Hewett and Dianne Kimball attended the event on a beautiful, fall-like day.  The ceremony atop the 6th floor of the CT Science Center was breezy with views of the tops of Hartford's landmark buildings.  The roof-top garden includes stone and boardwalk paths, native plants, and a frog sculpture.  The delicious luncheon inlcudin chicken and salmon, lentil salad, and roasted fennel was served in a room overlooking the CT River and the Founders Bridge Promenade.  We hope all garden club members get an opportunity to see the roof-top garden at the CT Science Center and enjoy the views.
Dianne and JoAnn enjoyed the day in Hartford.
